At the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport Ignas is currently working on the topics of inclusive education, STEAM, civic education, and educational support. Responsibilities in the ministry involve work on drafting, developing and coordinating implementation of policy in mentioned areas.

Ignas has a background in Physics. Previous experience includes working as a Head of Studies at the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University as well as a physics teacher. Ignas also used to work in the quality assurance of higher education as an expert for the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education, the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, and the European Students‘ Union. Also, for more than 8 years Ignas actively participated in Vilnius University Student Representation representing students at various levels.
